Eastern Hills Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Positons currently available for 2023
2 x - Permanent full time
1 x - Fixed term 12 months (1.0FTE)
Suitable applicants will ideally be expert, passionate teachers of English, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, and experience in developing and delivering a broad spectrum of secondary English curriculum, and a wide range of teaching models. Applicants should also be able to display the ability to differentiate the curriculum in an engaging and relevant manner.
Applicants will ideally be innovative and inclusive and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment for students of varying ability levels across Year 7 – 12. Ideally, suitable applicants will be highly proficient in motivating and engaging students.
We are looking for dynamic and collaborative individuals who are committed to working effectively as part of a team. The suitable applicants will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and be relationship focused. Building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role. You should have a strong evidence-based approach to teaching and be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to demonstrate that your pedagogy has actively resulted in improved outcomes and progression for your students.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
