We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) teachers for appointments to fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

Phoenix Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School which strives to create a positive, happy and rewarding school experience for all children and staff. Suitable applicants should be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to promote excellence, build effective teams and implement innovative curriculum. They should also possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. The ability to engage positively with parents is also highly desirable.

We are looking for K – 6 teachers who can create learning environments that are engaging, challenging and caring, ensuring that all children can learn and be successful. You will use effective whole-school behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning-focused classroom.

Our whole school evidence based teaching and learning programs ensure consistency through the years and give the children opportunities to be taught at their level and point of need in Literacy and Numeracy. Experience in differentiating the curriculum for students with specific learning needs and working with EAL/D (English as an Additional Language/Dialect) students would be highly advantageous. Suitable applicants should have outstanding curriculum knowledge, experience using data informed practice and the ability to cater for a range of student needs. Experience in implementing visible learning, Talk 4 Writing, Letters & Sounds, Words Their Way and PATHS (Promoting Alternate Thinking Strategies) will be well regarded.

Phoenix PS, situated to the south of Fremantle and near Coogee in Hamilton Hill caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our students come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and as a school we like to acknowledge, embrace and celebrate our diversity.

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
