Cloverdale Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and hardworking Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Cloverdale ESC is an inclusive school co-located with Cloverdale Primary School. Our policy is to encourage the fullest cooperation between teachers, students, and families in the process of learning.
Suitable applicants should be high-quality teachers who are enthusiastic and dedicated to teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual disabilities, Physical disabilities, sensory impairment, and challenging behaviours. Ideally, you will possess an in-depth understanding of evidence-based practice and specialist education support pedagogy. We are seeking applicants in primary aged classes, and innovative Duties Other Than Teaching (DOTT) provision.

Suitable applicants that possess a skill set that includes knowledge of Play Based Learning, Letters and Sounds, Numeracy, Alternative Augmentative Communication, Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour analysis and self-regulation, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH) and Digital Technologies would be highly desirable.
Our teaching staff is diverse and consists of graduate to lead teachers. We focus on developing our staff by providing comprehensive support to build the skills and capacity. Applications from teachers at all stages of career development are encouraged.
It is desirable that teachers are able to work with a range of student cohorts including homogenous ability groups and cross-set multi-age groups. The ability to work effectively with classroom support staff and external agency service providers is the key to successfully performing this role.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification – even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
