Appointment Pool
Dalkeith Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of innovative and energetic Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
We are seeking professional, enthusiastic and team orientated teachers to work collaboratively with small year level teams, the leadership team and school community to add value to our outstanding school, which has a strong focus on developing children for the future. Suitable applicants will ideally have high expectations of themselves, as well as of all students. They should be part of a team that builds an engaging school culture that challenges, invigorates and extends young minds. Teachers at our school will ideally be required to implement whole school approaches in teaching and learning, ensuring students are at the centre of everything they do, as they bring innovation and rich, diverse learning experiences to every child. Comprehensive curriculum knowledge and strong pedagogical skills in literacy and numeracy along with a strong focus on the wellbeing of the whole child are highly valued at our school.
Purposeful use of iPad technology to transform student learning along with peer leadership/mentoring of colleagues in the implementation of digital technologies is highly desirable, as are inquiry based learning; a focus on early intervention and the ability to provide a differentiated curriculum that extends all children at their point of need, including knowledge and application of High Impact Teaching Strategies.
Dalkeith PS is a highly regarded level 5 primary school with a well-established team structure. Teachers collaborate in like year levels to ensure the implementation of the school’s business and operational plans. Suitable applicants should be committed, professional and collaborative teachers who respect all students and have an understanding of current pedagogical practices within both traditional and flexible learning spaces.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
