About the role
We are seeking applicants who are committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and are collegial, effective collaborators. The successful applicant will be a motivated, skilled and pro-active educator who holds themselves accountable for improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day. You should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs for a multi-age class, using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum, Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS).
As the successful applicant you will utilise high-impact teaching strategies, including differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. The ability to use a variety of assessment tools to inform progress, enable constructive feedback and drive future planning at a classroom level will be highly regarded. Knowledge and experience with Letter and Sounds, Brightpath, Talk 4 Writing, Talk 4 Reading, Heggerty and iMaths is highly desirable.

The Gateway to Wave Rock, the Shire comprises the townships of Karlgarin, Hyden and Kondinin itself. Kondinin serves as a hub for hospital services, engineering for the agricultural sector, aged care and is the base for local industry. Kondinin offers a welcoming community with many community groups, sporting and local events throughout the year.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
