Ashdale Secondary College (SC) is seeking to appoint a dedicated, organised and highly motivated Executive Support Officer (ESO). The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills to provide support across a range of executive systems and procedures.
As the ESO at the College you will assist in managing and coordinating daily administrative operations including provision of administrative support to the Principal and Executive Team. The person we are seeking will have excellent time management and organisational skills to meet the growing demands of the College. You will need to work both collaboratively and independently when supporting the Executive Team.
The role is varied and wide ranging and includes coordination of VIP’s, links with external College partners, working closely with the College Board and P&C as well as liaising effectively with all College stakeholders. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Sound administration and organisational skills with considerable experience in the delivery of administration support services, including the ability to provide executive support to College Executives.
- Experience in coordinating events and marketing activities and associated financial management and budgeting requirements.
- Sound written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with senior positions, internal and external clients on a wide range of issues.
- Sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to use initiative to identify priorities and meet conflicting timelines.
- Relevant experience in the use of personal computer software applications, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel, with the ability to produce reports from computerised applications.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIRMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
