Appointment Pool
Bayswater Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten – Year 6 teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Bayswater PS is a Level 5 school located in the North Metropolitan Education Region, approximately 7 kilometres from the central CBD.
The school has a proud history of providing quality education and is strongly supported by the local community. High expectations of student success are achieved through a whole school explicit teaching pedagogical model that all staff follow. The school delivers a range of specialist programs including: Italian, Physical Education, Art and Music. A feature of the school is the strong sense of community and the collaborative nature and team structure of the staff which contributes to a focussed delivery of learning approaches.
We are seeking highly professional applicants with outstanding interpersonal skills and leadership experience for teaching opportunities at Bayswater PS.
Successful applicants will ideally pursue excellence in classroom teaching practice, including experience following an Explicit Teaching pedagogy and capacity to cater for a wide range of student abilities and special needs in their class. They will ideally foster and encourage innovation and make student academic achievement the core of their work.
Bayswater PS values applicants who are highly organised and have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with peers. Additionally, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, be willing to participate in coaching and peer observation as part of their professional growth, and a commitment to working with parents and the wider community are highly regarded skills.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
