Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Public Relations Officer to join their friendly team.
The Public Relations Officer provides support in developing, coordinating and managing the school’s marketing, communications and business plan needs. They will assist in producing the school’s printed and online publications including promotional materials, information booklets, and policies, as well as promoting school events and activities through newsletters, website and social media platforms.
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills which they will utilise to work collaboratively with the Principal, members of the leadership team and various stakeholders, as required. The ability to work independently and maintain high levels of organisation, whilst working on multiple projects, will be advantageous to this role. As a Public Relations Officer you will provide ongoing strategic advice to the Principal in regards to - marketing, communication and stakeholder engagement.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Comprehensive experience in a service organisation in a multi-faceted communication, public relations or marketing role.
- Skills and experience in developing, implementing and evaluating marketing and/or communication strategies.
- Interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills and experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and alliances.
- Events, project management and organisational skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of graphic design, print management, web publishing and database management.
- Ability to work independently, on multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
