The WA College of Agriculture, Cunderdin (WACoA, Cunderdin) is seeking an experienced, motivated and innovative school leader to join their friendly team in the role of Program Coordinator - Positive Culture and Wellbeing and proactively lead College-wide positive culture and wellbeing initiatives to support all students.

We require a motivated, collaborative and highly organised leader who will build on and strengthen our College-wide values and positive culture. You will lead our strength-based behaviour expectations policy with support from our committed Student Services Team and support day-to-day student engagement and wellbeing.
In addition, as the Program Coordinator - Positive Culture and Wellbeing, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work collaboratively with our students and the Student Council to ensure student voice is heard and informs planning, policy reform and practise
- Work with key stakeholders to enhance the ‘student experience,’ support the coordination of activities and student events and increase opportunities for student leadership
- Build on a sense of belonging, connectedness and pride for our College through clearly articulating our College values and expectations
- Increase the formal recognition of students who represent our College values and beliefs
- Provide wraparound support, mentoring and strategies for students requiring additional support
- Implement the College-Wide Wellbeing Plan through coordinating student health and wellbeing programs and workshops for students along with relevant staff training.
Our Student Services Team currently consists of our Associate Principal, Residential Boarding Manager, Head of Curriculum, Assistant Farm Manager, School Psychologist, Chaplain and a representative from both ‘Trades’ and ‘Class’ areas.
This role may involve a 0.3 – 0.6 FTE (maximum) teaching load. A proportion of this load may be allocated to the delivery of targeted wellbeing programs to students during ‘VET Theory’ time with the remaining teaching load possibly being allocated based on the successful applicant’s qualifications, background and skill set.
This role is suited to an individual who is committed to supporting student wellbeing and success and would also like to maintain their classroom ‘currency’ through maintaining a teaching load.

Our College provides Year 11 and 12 students with a unique educational experience focused on innovation and excellence and was awarded the 2020 WA School of the Year for WACE Attainment and had a Beazley Medal Recipient (VET) in 2021. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
