Appointment Pool
North Cottesloe Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Manager Corporate Services (MCS) for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
As the MCS you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial, physical, and human resource aspects of the school's business operations and manage all school support staff. Suitable applicants will monitor and report on the financial integrity of the school's operations to a variety of audiences including the school board, staff and community, and provide operational input to financial planning and budgeting, including the diverse funding entities for which the school is responsible. You will be required to participate in school-based committees and working groups to ensure alignment with the school's business targets and objectives as well as administer financial, administrative and information systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Departmental policies and guidelines.
Suitable applicants should possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. Applicants should effectively support decision making regarding physical, financial and human resources, utilising their skills in financial management and strategic planning. Suitable applicants should evidence strong leadership and high level professionalism, in order to review and establish processes and policies for our school.
North Cottesloe PS is located on the Perth to Fremantle railway line and only a short walk from the ocean at North Cottesloe Beach. The school enrols students from Pre-Primary to Year Six, and also administers the Seaview Community Kindergarten, which offers a sessional kindergarten program.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Leadership skills in the delivery of business outcomes and sound customer service principles and practices.
- Well developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to use effective negotiation skills.
- Sound financial management skills, including budget preparation and the ability to interpret and apply financial and accounting practices and procedures.
- Sound human resource management skills, including the ability to develop and/or apply human resource management practices and systems.
- Ability to provide input into the development, implementation and monitoring of business and marketing plans.
- Sound conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
