Appointment Pool
Waikiki Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary School Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023.
Waikiki PS is seeking proactive, team oriented, highly motivated, exceptional educators looking for exciting opportunities to teach eager learners.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the knowledge, skills and processes to incorporate our existing whole-school programs and support our school directions, as outlined in the Waikiki Business Plan, available here: Waikiki Primary School - Business Plan.
Suitable applicants will be expected to work as a collaborative member of a professional learning team and ideally have the skills to teach across a variety of year levels. Suitable applicants should be able to engage with the community and build positive, productive and respectful relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies.
Ideally applicants will have the ability to use exemplary evidence based teaching practices and analyse student achievement data to differentiate effectively. They should actively engage in self-reflection to improve their practice and willingly participate in the coaching, observation and feedback cycle to develop their understanding of whole school practices and pedagogy.

Waikiki PS is a Level 5 Primary School in the suburb of Waikiki in Rockingham, Western Australia, 55 kilometres south of Perth. The school offers a program of education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
We have strong community support and became an Independent Public School in 2017. The school has specialist programs in Physical Education, Indonesian Language, Science and Performing Arts.
Our school has very strong community support with the School Board being the main decision making body. A very active P&C provides ongoing support and improvements to amenities such as the provision of school resources and equipment. We have a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff who are keen to move forward in developing academic success for all students.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
