Payroll Services is seeking to appoint motivated individuals with payroll experience to Payroll Officer positions.
As a Payroll Officer you will:
- provide, generate, and maintain employee personal information and pay distributions.
- process employee commencements, movements, variations, and terminations.
- process leave, salary and allowance payments, income tax and overpayments.
- ensure work is timely, accurate and in line with applicable industrial instruments, legislation and Department policies and procedures.
As part of the Business and Customer Services (BCS) directorate you will be required to contribute to a safe work environment that fosters equity and diversity and achieve your deliverables to enable BCS to accomplish their goals.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to twelve months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should a successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

2. Demonstrated experience with computerised human resource management information systems or equivalent and the ability to perform pay calculations, ensuring accuracy of complex payroll data.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.

- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
