Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) are seeking to establish a pool of Program Coordinator - Leading Teacher and Learnings for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Joseph Banks SC are seeking to establish a pool of passionate and committed Program Coordinators who will work closely with the Principal and collaboratively with members of the leadership team to provide educational leadership in the school and the community by promoting the school vision and facilitating workforce effectiveness.
Suitable applicants will ideally promote positive relationships between students, staff, parents, and the local community as you lead a Professional Learning Community (PLC) which is proactive, innovative, and supportive, to ensure successful learning achievement outcomes for a community of students and teachers. Suitable applicants will ideally apply their professional knowledge and understanding of contemporary instructional strategies to promote teaching, learning and student well-being within the school community.
The suitable applicants will ideally display a sound understanding of the case management of students that includes knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring, and reporting strategies. They will also ideally possess the ability to provide direction and purpose to staff, to build team capacity, capabilities, and cohesion, and to promote an environment of positive quality academic learning experiences for all students.

Joseph Banks SC, an Independent Public School, is located in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 27 km from the Perth CBD. We currently accept students from Years 7 to 12. The vision for Joseph Banks SC is to create a vibrant culture of excellence, innovation, opportunity and success for students, staff, and the community. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g., Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
