Banksia Park Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Education Teacher to join their friendly team.
Banksia Park PS provides a supportive environment in which each child can develop their cognitive, creative, physical and social skills to their full potential. Located in Leeming, our school caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Providing exemplary learning environments with a range of educational opportunities, our school recognises and caters for the diversity of student's individual talents, interests and needs.
The successful applicant should be committed to ensuring all students succeed and are supported in their development. A capacity to examine student data at all levels to determine the impact of teaching and to inform, plan and assess cycles will be embedded in your practice, along with the ability to engage learners effectively.
You will ideally focus on reflection, growth and continuous self-improvement and value a collaborative, team approach. You should incorporate the successful implementation of explicit teaching strategies along with embracing whole school approaches in Literacy and Numeracy. Composite classes are common in our school context and a capacity to differentiate learning to meet individual, group and whole class needs is essential.
The successful applicant should be committed to putting students first in their decision-making and ensure judgements are evidence based. Digital Technologies are a priority focus and a capacity to integrate learning effectively in this area would be an advantage. You should also be committed to working in a collaborative manner, focused on implementing instructional strategies for maximum impact.
You will ideally possess a can do attitude and the ability to work positively with all stakeholders, in a collegiate environment, characterised by connected practice and a strong commitment to professional growth and ongoing improvement.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
