Wongan Hills District High School (DHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science and Mathematics Teacher to join our friendly team.

Wongan Hills DHS offers a supporting and collaborative working environment. Staff are supported through common Duties other than Teaching (DOTT), continuous reflection and professional development and opportunities for shared leadership. The classrooms have recently been refurbished to include flexible learning spaces and technology to support contemporary pedagogy.
Wongan Hills DHS is a medium size district high school situated 170 kms (less than 2 hours’ drive) north-east of Perth in the stunning Wheatbelt. The school caters for over 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The town offers a variety of quality shopping environments to suit a country lifestyle and has a wide range of sporting groups and excellent facilities to foster opportunities to be part of the community.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
