This is a permanent part-time (0.2FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2022.
Piara Waters Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated Network Support Officer.
The role of the Network Support Officer is to ensure the effective operations of the school's network and support teachers to utilise technology to enhance their teaching. As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's Information Computer Technology Network and systems. You will work collaboratively with the other Network Support Officer and be part of a supportive, friendly, and collaborative staff. We are looking for a skilled and organised officer with good communication and interpersonal skills, one who can problem solve and provide advice and support on technical issues, to enable effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will work closely with teachers and ensure the school’s iPad program for staff and students (1 to 1 in Years 3 to 6) is effective.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Knowledge of network systems and platforms relevant to the operating environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to the operational maintenance of Information Technology networks.
- Organisational skills, including the ability to plan and implement data security procedures.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Practical experience in developing and implementing user-training procedures.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy;
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
