The Role and our Branch
The Student Engagement and Wellbeing branch is seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to join the team.

The Student Engagement and Wellbeing branch is responsible for the coordination and management of a number of strategic programs, projects and policies to support the engagement and wellbeing of all students in Western Australian public schools. These include student health, student attendance, student behaviour and child safeguarding and the development and delivery of professional learning to improve student engagement and wellbeing.
The Student Engagement and Wellbeing Directorate delivers culturally responsive, integrated, Statewide services for networks, schools and teachers that assist schools to support the engagement and wellbeing of every student. Services and support delivered through the Directorate is integrated with all other functions of Statewide Services, to support the successful outcomes for all students.
As Senior Consultant, Professional Capability, you will be a culturally responsive, confident and proactive communicator with a strong focus on stakeholder relationships and delivering effective outcomes to support the wellbeing of students in Western Australian public schools. In this role, you will contribute to existing and emerging strategic priorities in collaboration with external agencies and other business units across the Department. Attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines and high-level written and organisational skills are essential for this role. The ability to supporting budget and human resources management is also essential.
You will work with your colleagues to facilitate a positive team culture and contribute to the operations of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing branch in accordance with the strategic directions of the public school system, legislation and Department policies and procedures. You will enact the code of conduct an apply a growth mindset to all facets of your work.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
