Rockingham Lakes Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and organised Primary Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, motivated and skilled educator who is committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches and instructional strategies, underpinned by our focus on John Hattie’s Visible Learning philosophy. You should exhibit a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and should also possess the ability to plan for school improvement using and responding to all data sources, ensuring curriculum and pedagogical development is current and ongoing. The successful applicant should be flexible, adaptive, and be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.

Rockingham Lakes PS is an Independent Public School that opened in 2002 and is located in the established suburb of Port Kennedy. Current enrolment is approximately 460 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Peel Language Development School is co-located on the site. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
Training
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
