About the Role
The successful applicant should be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic improvement in a supportive environment. As a Media Teacher you will participate as an integral member of The Arts learning area and be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community, and modelling exemplary teaching and learning strategies. To be successful in this role you should have an immense passion for Media Arts across multiple media platforms. Additionally, the successful applicant should possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of, and/or experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics and be willing to network and build industry contacts with other schools.
The successful applicant will ideally possess professional knowledge, practice, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Arts curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and ideally have success working with students across a range of ability levels.
Our School
EKC is one of the largest Kindergarten to Year 12 schools in the state with approximately 900 students enrolled. With almost 50% of enrolments being indigenous, it also has the largest enrolment of Aboriginal students of any school in the State.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
