Morley Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Languages Teacher to teach Mandarin at our friendly school.
The successful applicant will ideally be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in Languages. Ideally they will use professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Languages’ curriculum. The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated, innovative, and organised Languages Teacher with a strong Mandarin language background. They should have the ability to immerse students in both an understanding of the language and the development of cultural awareness.
The Languages teacher is responsible for implementing visible learning practices that involve the provision of learning intentions and success criteria for all lessons. Additionally, they provide effective feedback to students through formative assessment and negotiate goals that support students to become independent learners. A key attribute to this role is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun and purposeful while differentiating for student learning needs.
The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to work in an environment characterised by a shared moral purpose, whole school connected practice and a strong commitment to professional growth. Applicants that are committed to effective collaboration within a Phase of Learning team will be highly regarded.

They will actively engage in self-reflection and the classroom observation and feedback cycle. We are seeking a Languages teacher who is driven to contribute to whole school programs and events.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
