The Disability and Inclusion branch is seeking to appoint a highly dedicated and motivated individual to work collaboratively in the role of Projects and Support Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Disability and Inclusion branch in Statewide Services on work that transforms system strategies and priorities into practical supports for schools to improve the teaching and learning outcomes of students with disability and diverse learning needs.
The Role and our Branch
The Disability and Inclusion directorate sits within the Statewide Services division which provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. The directorate builds the professional capability of schools to improve student achievement by enabling teaching and learning excellence. It influences system strategy and input to government and cross-agency initiatives to improve outcomes for students with disability.
As the Projects and Support Officer, you will coordinate, implement and monitor project support and administrative systems and processes for the Disability and Inclusion branch. You will gather, record and analyse data and program evaluations to inform future planning and reporting. You will provide effective administrative support for projects and programs, including records and correspondence management and preparation and maintenance of electronic and online resources. You will also provide executive support to the branch manager as well as advice and information to internal and external stakeholders on disability and inclusion related matters.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess well-developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to assist in the preparation of written documentation, including Ministerial responses, briefing notes, reports, submissions, correspondence and presentations. You will also be required to liaise effectively with a wide range of individuals to establish and maintain effective working relationships. In addition, you will assist in the negotiation, management and monitoring of contracted services and the procurement of goods within budget and in accordance with buying policies and procedures.

- Demonstrated well developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
