Rivergums Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Music Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant should ideally be self-motivated, innovative, and prepared to meet challenges. Applicants must be prepared to participate and actively engage in whole school, phase planning and curriculum development to raise student performance standards. The successful applicant should exhibit a high level of collaborative practice to enable effective participation and engagement within the school.
We are looking for someone who is energetic and has a passion for teaching music. The successful applicant will ideally establish strong, positive and productive relationships with students, peers and the wider school community.
You should possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and display the ability to work collaboratively. The successful applicant will welcome the opportunity to be coached, to grow their professional practice and to respond to coaching involving regular class observations and feedback.The successful applicant should be motivated, reflective teachers who seek out new opportunities and are focused on their own professional growth.
Rivergums PS is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school opened in 2016 and offers positive and challenging learning programs that encourage all students to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and values to become successful, confident, and creative individuals.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
