Are you a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity?
Castletown Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of highly enthusiastic and team-orientated Kindergarten to Year 2 (K-2) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

The Ideal Teacher
Castletown PS is committed to achieving excellence through innovative teaching and learning. Suitable applicants should use evidence-based teaching practices to significantly improve student outcomes. You will also ideally be knowledgeable on the application of our whole-school priorities and evidence-based teaching programs and practices.
Suitably qualified Early Childhood applicants should already have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian (WA) curriculum, Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards; and deliver content in an intentional, play-based and engaging manner alongside more explicit teaching and instruction.
We seek teachers that will inspire students to develop an enthusiasm for learning in vibrant, engaging, and supportive classrooms. Suitable applicants should also exhibit inclusive proactive strategies to support and enable all students to engage and achieve positive outcomes in and out of the classroom.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess the personal attributes to build strong and valuable relationships with students, staff, and our supportive school community. Through our Professional Learning Communities, our staff participate in whole school and year level planning, moderation, and data analysis. It is desirable that applicants display a high level of interpersonal skills, collaborative practice, along with well-developed communication skills. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
