Woodvale Secondary College (SC) is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Coordinator and Digital Technologies Teacher to join our friendly teaching team.
The College is well-resourced with excellent facilities. Its ICT capability is world class with every student bringing a touch screen device to school every day. Each student has the same device and all classrooms a fitted with a seamless projection system. Staff have access to an array of online tools to support their work. The College network always works, students are on task and can be monitored throughout the day.
The successful applicant will split their time between the management of the College-wide Learning Technologies program and the teaching of the WA Curriculum Digital Technologies. However, if the applicant feels they would be better suited to another learning area, then they should still apply. The coordinator will work alongside the ICT technical team and the Vice Principal. They will provide insight into new and emerging learning technologies as well as support teacher use of these tools.
The College is part of the Government STEM build initiative and maintains an Academic Extension and Enrichment program in STEM. It would be desirable for the successful applicant to engage in these programs as well.
The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to contribute positively to a team environment. They will ideally be innovative, knowledgeable and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise in order to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning specifically in the use of LT. They should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of their teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
