East Kalgoorlie Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.

About the Role
East Kalgoorlie PS is looking for exceptional teachers with the skills to teach Kindergarten to Year 6 students in a diverse educational setting, meeting the needs of students within a dynamic environment. Suitable applicants will provide an integrated and culturally responsive program to meet the needs of our predominantly Aboriginal student population.
Suitable applicants will ideally have an understanding of Explicit Instruction. Knowledge of The Writing Revolution, Let's Decode & Spelling Mastery is desirable. Applicants will also ideally be flexible, energetic, and able to work collaboratively within their phase. We are seeking teachers who have outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively and build genuine relationships with parents, students, and staff members. Aspirant leaders ae urged to apply as coordination positions will be available commencing 2023 in areas of learning including Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM.) Suitable applicants should promptly establish a positive and welcoming classroom environment with high expectations and a growth mindset while building students’ positive social and emotional skills.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess exemplary teaching skills, be highly motivated and hold themselves accountable to delivering best practice. You should have the ability to work in an environment characterised by whole school connected practice, collaborative team structures and a strong commitment to professional growth.
Ideally, suitable applicants will take advantage of high impact teaching strategies and have proven experience and/or knowledge in the planning and delivery of engaging literacy and numeracy programs with a particular focus on Explicit Instruction. A deep understanding of how to differentiate to meet the needs of all students will be highly regarded, as is the ability to use a variety of assessment tools to inform progress, enable constructive feedback and drive future planning at a classroom level.
Our School
East Kalgoorlie PS is a family focused Kindergarten to Year 6 school located on the eastern fringe of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Our students are from all over the city, 98% of whom are Aboriginal. We have a strong emphasis on the early years of schooling with services for every student and are uniquely placed to offer a highly supportive and nurturing environment. East Kalgoorlie PS is on an improvement cycle that involves whole school approaches and also recognises the need for clear planning and assessment.
Our intensive work in the early years is based around Early Years Plus, an innovative approach to learning for our diverse group of young learners. It looks outside the traditional boundaries of schooling and builds on the strengths every child brings to the first years of schooling. With a full time, early years program running five days a week, including two Kindergarten classes for three and four-year-olds, we ensure every student has the opportunity to reach national early years benchmarks.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
