Are you a dedicated and passionate Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity?
South Kalgoorlie Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
About the Role
This role will suit applicants who are relationship-focused, highly motivated, and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students.
An induction and mentor process is incorporated to support all new and returning staff.
The Ideal Teacher
We are seeking teachers who are student-focused, have high expectations and believe that every child should be set up for success. Suitable applicants will work in supportive teams incorporating a strong school curriculum focus.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess a strong knowledge of all key elements of Early Childhood and Primary pedagogy and curriculum, as well as an ability to inspire students to develop a passion for learning in a vibrant, engaging, and supportive classroom.
South Kalgoorlie teachers are conscientious, flexible, and innovative. They are committed to the development of the whole child, highly reflective and committed to evidence-based decision making and differentiation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are integral to our school.
Programs used across the school include Talk for Writing, Seven Steps, Letters and Sounds, Top Ten Maths, MultiLit, Brightpath and Ed Companion. Experience using these programs is desirable but not essential.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
