This is a fifteen (15) month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2022
Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic French Languages Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluency in the French language. Experience in course coordination, assessment design and differentiation as well as data analysis is a key aspect of this role. In addition, you should be able to effectively use Information Communications Technology (ICT) to enhance student learning. Applicants with experience in delivering French: Second Language at ATAR level will be highly regarded, as will applicants who demonstrate their flexibility to teach in another learning area if required.
As part of your standard practice, you will reflect on, and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practices using a variety of methods available within the school. You will provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. Creating and promoting an environment conducive to active and positive learning and that caters for different student learning needs should also be a strength of the successful applicant. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices are highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
