Appointment Pool
Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated Health and Physical Education (HPE) teachers, with a passion for engaging students in developing a love and passion for reaching their potential in HPE for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate and dedicated educators, highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. They will provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge and understandings related to HPE, supported by a variety of approaches to learning.
Joseph Banks SC has developed a number of sporting academies, an interest and passion for supporting the development of our Australian Football Academy or one of our established sports; Soccer, Netball, Triathlon or Rugby, will be highly regarded. Suitable applicants will also ideally be dedicated and highly motivated educators with an excellent knowledge of the Senior School Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner and be highly effective team members. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning. You will ideally be innovative, knowledgeable and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area. It is highly desirable that suitable applicants have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and experience in delivering Certificate courses.
Suitable applicants should have high expectations, display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies, and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. You will ideally be able to display an ability to work as a collaborative team member and be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success. You will also ideally be able to display an ability to assist the school in achieving a "culture of curiosity".
Suitable applicants should have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 7 – 12 in a highly engaging manner. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.
Joseph Banks SC is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
