Morley Primary School (PS) is seeking a creative, enthusiastic and collaborative Music Teacher.
The successful applicant should be able to teach Music and Performing Arts across a range of ability levels from P-6. Sound classroom management, the ability to develop rapport and engage students, differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and to practise a range of teaching strategies, are a strong focus for this position. Experience in building a strong school choir, showcasing students’ talents to the wider community and managing the Instrumental Music School Service (IMSS) program are highly desirable.
The successful applicant should be highly motivated and possess professional knowledge, practice, and experience to deliver an engaging Music program in line with the Music Curriculum. The successful applicant should be able to differentiate teaching and learning to engage and motivate all students. The applicant will support major school directions and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives. The Music teacher will work as a collaborative member of the Specialist Phase of Learning Team. They will contribute to professional discussion and engage in Teaching Sprints to develop pedagogy and make a positive impact on student learning.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents, and external networks to establish strong community partnerships are also highly desired.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
