Cassia Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2023.

About the Role
We are seeking teachers who have outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively and build genuine relationships with parents, students and staff members. Suitable applicants should quickly establish a positive and welcoming classroom environment with high expectations and a growth mindset, while building students’ positive social and emotional skills.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess exemplary teaching skills, be highly motivated and hold themselves accountable to delivering best practice. You should have the ability to work in an environment characterised by whole school connected practice, collaborative team structures and a strong commitment to professional growth.
Ideally, suitable applicants will take advantage of high impact teaching strategies and have proven experience in the planning and delivery of engaging literacy and numeracy programs with a particular focus on explicit instruction. A deep understanding of how to differentiate to meet the needs of all students will be highly regarded, as will the ability to use a variety of assessment tools to inform progress, enable constructive feedback and drive future planning at a classroom level.
Suitable applicants will ideally be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach and a willingness to adopt the whole school Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach to behaviour management. Cassia PS is an Independent Public School on Kariyarra land in South Hedland. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We live by our school vision to Inspire, Believe and Achieve, through Excellence.

About the Location
Port Hedland is the gateway to the Pilbara. To the east you can explore the wild, rugged beauty of Karijini National Park, with its spectacular natural gorges, waterfalls and pools perfect for hiking and walking. To the south is the enchanting Millstream Chichester National Park, bounded by the spinifex lined Chichester Ranges with the Fortescue River coursing through creating natural water flows and freshwater pools perfect for swimming.
On the road north to the Kimberley, you can experience the life of a modern day drover at De Grey or Pardoo cattle stations or pull off the Great Northern Highway at Eighty Mile Beach between October and December and be treated to the rare sight of flatback turtles nesting on the white sandy beaches.
Travelling further east will bring you to the towns of Newman, Tom Price and Marble Bar. Each with their own story to tell, these towns offer visitors a vast range of opportunities and experiences. From the open cut mines of Newman to the world renowned Martumili Artists of Jigalong and surrounds, through to Australia's hottest town Marble Bar, to the spectacular camping and off-road sites of the East Pilbara, the region is as diverse and exciting as it is wide.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
