Butler Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Languages Teacher to teach Indonesian at their friendly school.
The successful applicant will ideally be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in Languages. You will ideally use professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Language’s curriculum. The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic Languages Teacher with a strong Indonesian language background. You should have the ability to immerse students in both an understanding of the language and the development of cultural awareness.
The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing visible learning practices that involve the provision of learning intentions and success criteria for all lessons. Additionally, you will provide effective feedback to students through formative assessment and negotiate goals that support students to become independent learners. A key attribute to this role is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are fun, purposeful, and relevant and cater for differing student learning needs.
Butler PS opened in 2003 and received Independent Public School status in 2012. The school is a Level 6 school and accommodates over 650 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school environment and facilities are well maintained to ensure they cater for the needs of our students through ample play areas and well maintained grounds.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
