Heathridge Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Associate Principals for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2023.
Heathridge Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Associate Principal with excellent interpersonal skills to join the leadership team.
The Associate Principal will work collaboratively with the School Leadership Team in student case management. This will include developing, implementing and monitoring preventative plans and programs to support student success. The Associate Principal will ideally have an extensive knowledge of providing wrap-around support and targeted intervention for students, utilising both departmental and external agency personnel. Suitable applicants should display the ability to use data analysis to inform future planning and be skilled at differentiating the curriculum to support teachers. They will also initiate and lead the review of school policies to support the management, engagement and full participation of students with disability, diagnosed or imputed, and ensure compliance with legislative and/or system policies.
The Associate Principal will provide high level strategic leadership and promote the school’s vision, business plan and strategic directions across the school community to improve student learning outcomes. A significant responsibility of the Associate Principal is to embed and maintain aspects of the school culture that encourage positive relationships between students and staff while engaging parents, caregivers and the wider community in the educational work of the school. To be successful, you should ideally possess a high level of innovative leadership in building a professional learning community; knowledge, interest, and the capacity to lead whole school approaches.

We are a small, family-oriented school catering for approximately 215 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, with about 23% of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Heathridge PS is committed to meeting the needs of all students and the school community, including a Specialised Learning Program for students with ASD. In 2021, Heathridge PS became a Teacher Development School for Digital Technology and Special Education Needs.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g., Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
