Appointment Pool
Southern Cross District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Secondary Generalist teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2023.

About the role
As a teacher at our school, you would work collaboratively with others to help create and maintain an engaging and stimulating learning environment for students to enjoy and would help inspire students to develop a passion for learning.
We are seeking teachers who are creative in their approach, recognise students’ individualities and are able to provide an inclusive learning environment.
A position at our school would suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite student’s desires to learn. We require teachers who value relationships with students and the community as support them on their journey with Southern Cross DHS. This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or for a teacher wishing to expand their knowledge by teaching in a regional school.
We are seeking teachers who have good knowledge of learning areas within the WA Curriculum with a particular focus on Maths, Science, the Arts, Physical Education and/or Technologies.
We will also consider an internal secondment opportunity for permanent teachers in other locations within the Department of Education who would like to work at our school for up to three years and retain their substantive position. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
