Appointment Pool
Workforce Supply and Mobility Reform is seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultants for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2022 and up to the end of August, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2022, up to the end of August, 2023.
We currently have the following positions available:

The Role and our Branch
Staff Recruitment and Employment Services manages the Department of Education’s human resources, including those in central and regional office, and those in schools across the state. The directorate facilitates change and reform to maintain a contemporary approach to recruitment and employment services.
As Principal Consultant Workforce Supply Mobility and Reform you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies and initiatives to attract retain quality staff to work for our Department, and once employed, retain them in employment.
In this role, you will employ your previous experience working in a team lead or project role and provide high level, strategic advice on complex matters relating to the attraction and retention of staff. You will lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of related workforce initiatives and undertake comprehensive stakeholder consultations to achieve organisational objectives.
In addition to the permanent position, which is available for an immediate start, we also anticipate filling two time limited positions from this pool. Both time limited positions will require project management experience and expertise, and will be focussed on:
- Developing and implementing strategies targeted to attract and recruit international teachers to work with the Department; and
- Developing on-line resources focussed on attracting and retaining quality teaching and allied professionals.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated extensive knowledge of human resources policy, procedures and practices within the public sector legislative framework and an understanding of the application of these within a large decentralised and complex organisation.
2. Demonstrated highly developed strategic management and change management skills with the ability to lead the delivery of strategic outcomes within agreed timeframes and in a customer-focussed manner.
4. Demonstrated high-level written communication and presentation skills, including extensive experience in the preparation of briefings, reports, frameworks and policy.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course;
- complete;
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
