Appointment Pool
Thornlie Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of motivated, dedicated and flexible Kindergarten to Year 6 Teachers who ideally possess exemplary teaching skills and are able to provide a high-quality education to every student, every day at Thornlie PS.
We are seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2023.

Suitable applicants should display their capacity to implement a differentiated, targeted curriculum to a diverse range of students, e.g. Aboriginal students, students with special needs and English as an Additional Language/Dialect students who may be in the Intensive English Centre (Stage 1) or in the mainstream school (Stage 2 and 3). A thorough understanding of the West Australian Curriculum to inform their planning, teaching and assessment is important to the role.

Positive, supportive relationships that create a sense of belonging for all members of the community is a fundamental value of our school.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
