About the Role
This role will suit someone who is relationship-focused, highly motivated, and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students. The teaching load includes four lower school classes and a Year 12 General course.
The successful applicant will ideally have a commitment to inclusive education and a strategic approach in planning for improved student outcomes. The capacity to differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of students with a range of achievement levels, language backgrounds and learning difficulties is highly desirable. In keeping with this, the successful applicant will ideally be committed to maximising the engagement and progress of all students.
You should be innovative, knowledgeable and understand instructional curriculum whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Science Learning Area. You should also be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment.
The Location and Community
Broome is a vibrant and attractive coastal town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. As a tourist town, Broome is well resourced regarding facilities and services. The successful applicant will be eligible for GROH housing and the movement of self, car, and furniture to and from Broome.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
