Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate, motivated, team orientated and work collaboratively with the leadership team and school community. Suitable applicants would be committed to improving learning outcomes for every student, every day, through our whole school approaches using evidenced-based instructional strategies.

It is highly desirable that applicants have the interpersonal skills necessary to develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. Applicants should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.
We are seeking applicants who are innovative and possess high quality teaching skills and knowledge. Suitable applicants will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.
The vision is for our students to be best prepared for life in the twenty-first century. Skills needed include problem solving, working creatively, thinking analytically, interacting positively, working independently, communicating in multiple multimedia formats, and having qualities of ethics, action and accountability. Through learning these skills, we aim to develop global citizens who are literate, numerate and creative, with the social capacity to plan for their future.
Our school proudly continues to acknowledge and welcome the contributions of the local Aboriginal people and the broader multicultural contributions of all families. The cultural diversity of our school continues to be a distinctive attribute in our community, enhancing the development of our staff and students, thus contributing to Australia's multi-cultural community. We have over 30 languages or dialects other than English represented in our school families.
At Cooinda PS students proudly learn in a safe and happy environment. Our school is indeed a 'happy meeting place' where personal excellence is a driving force, where diversity is celebrated, and equity is pursued to support all students in their future pathways. As the first school in WA to have a name other than the relevant suburb or street name, the name 'Cooinda' was chosen. It is the Noongar word that tells of a 'happy meeting place' and our school continues to build its philosophy around enabling all students to find successful pathways to ongoing learning.
