Rapids Landing Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of innovative, student and relationship focused teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the remainder of 2022 and at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 and 2023 school years.
We are seeking professional, enthusiastic and team orientated teachers to work collaboratively with the leadership team and school community to add value to our contemporary and distinctive school that has a child focused identity. Displayed comprehensive curriculum knowledge and strong pedagogical skills in literacy, numeracy and developing the whole child will be highly regarded. Purposeful use of technology, inquiry-based learning and a focus on early intervention and differentiated curriculum to meet each student at their point of need is expected, including students with special needs.
Suitable applicants will ideally have the innovation, capacity and passion to anticipate and respond to change to implement a strong improvement agenda, ground in evidence and expressed in terms of improvements in measurable student outcomes. They will work collaboratively in a team environment, embracing classroom observation, feedback, modelling and coaching. Their active engagement in self and peer reflection and effective use of data will promote a contemporary pedagogy and strengthen personal and whole school practice.
Rapids Landing PS opened as an Independent Public School in 2018 in Margaret River and has a current student population of 350 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We value our partnerships with parents, carers and the community. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
