Appointment Pool
South Bunbury Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
We are looking for teachers who are child-focused with high expectations of their students. Ideally, they will have a firm belief that every child can achieve and have a commitment to working with students, staff and the wider community in facilitating every child’s learning every day.
Students at South Bunbury PS come from many different social and cultural backgrounds and the school is developing strong collaborative partnerships with colleagues from the onsite South Bunbury Education Support Centre. Capacity to cater for diversity, in an inclusive manner, in ways that fosters students’ learning is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally have a good working knowledge of the WA Curriculum, with a commitment to implementing whole school programs, particularly in the areas of English and Maths. A good working knowledge of PLD, Letters and Sounds and Bond Blocks is desirable. Applicants should have the capacity to use data, such as Brightpath, to inform their teaching and learning programs to facilitate every child’s progress.
Suitable applicants will ideally be organised and have skills in creating a safe, inclusive and orderly learning environment that is also focused on supporting students’ emotional well-being. They will have excellent behaviour management skills aligned with the principles and practises of PBS. The school has commenced the “You Can Do It” program and knowledge of this program and a background in “Trauma Informed Practice” would be desirable.
We are seeking teachers who are committed to their ongoing professional growth. They will ideally have the capacity to apply their professional knowledge with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in collaborating within a team approach with students, colleagues and families in improving student outcomes.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
