Halls Head College are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Media Teacher to join their friendly Arts team.
The successful applicant for this position should be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments. They should exhibit the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to develop and implement an engaging and relevant secondary school Arts curriculum within the Media context.
As an expert practitioner, applicants should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. Another key attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
Whilst Senior School experience in Media would be viewed favourably it is not a prerequisite. We would also encourage new Graduates who are looking to hone their skills to apply. Halls Head has a solid support program for Graduates to ensure they have the mentoring and required support to build a solid teaching foundation.
Halls Head College is uniquely situated on the 'island' of Halls Head just south of Mandurah. The local intake area of Halls Head College is south, close to the Waroona Shire boundary. The contributory primary schools are Glencoe, Halls Head, Falcon, South Halls Head and Ocean Road. The College provides a secondary education for students who live in the rapidly growing coastal strip, south of Mandurah.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
