This is a permanent part-time (0.5FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2022
Duncraig Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a teacher of French to commence in Term 3 2022. Initially the role will be 0.5 FTE and this is expected to increase as the year progresses.
The school runs a dynamic, expanding and well-regarded Foreign Languages program, delivering Indonesian and French.
Duncraig SHS caters for Year 7 to 12 French and Indonesian languages, with an accelerated program offered in Years 7-10, leading to ATAR courses in Senior School. Students at the school can also opt for the popular Certificate II in Tourism in Year 11 & 12. The Languages and Tourism Learning Area prides itself on teaching and learning programs that engage students and on its academic outcomes for students. We are looking for a teacher who can effectively connect with and inspire students to further develop their abilities.
Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of the teaching and learning that takes places with a particular emphasis on maximising students’ engagement and learning outcomes. The successful applicant should have a genuine interest in working collaboratively with colleagues in pedagogy, curriculum, and student achievement across Year 7 to 12. Any experience with Gifted and Talented students and an ability to differentiate for both academic extension and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) would be advantageous. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT-based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a one-on-one personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas. A familiarity with SEQTA would be well-regarded as this is the online learning management system used at the school.
The school offers a wide range of extracurricular programs and opportunities for students and applicants who demonstrate a history and/or passion for being involved in these important complementary programs would be highly regarded.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
