Appointment Pool
Are you a collaborative and engaging teacher who can inspire and motivate students to succeed?
Heathridge Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2023.

Heathridge PS is an Independent Public School located approximately 25 kilometres north of the city of Perth. We are a small, family-oriented school catering for approximately 210 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, with about 23% of students being diagnosed with Autism. A team of dedicated and professional teaching and non-teaching staff are committed to meeting the needs of students and the school community, including a Specialised Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Suitable applicants will create an inspiring and engaging learning environment that instils in each child a lifelong love of learning. The ability to build a strong value-based classroom environment where interactions are positive and rewarding for all is desirable. Having excellent interpersonal skills and being able to relate positively with all members of the school community is highly desirable.
A deep understanding of how to differentiate for individual learning styles and provide a developmentally appropriate learning program will be considered an advantage. Suitable applicants will ideally be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and have a pedagogy built on research-based best practice with a clear understanding of the principles of teaching, learning and assessment. Literacy and Numeracy development are priorities, as is an understanding of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and its application within the classroom to provide students with digital literacy.
Applicants with knowledge, experience and skills in flexible seating, iPads, catering for children with ASD, Talk for Reading, Talk for Writing, PRIME Maths, Diana Rigg’s PLD Phonics Program, implementing mindfulness, Zones of Regulation, Word Aware and play-based learning will be considered favourably.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
