Lakeland Senior High School (SHS) is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and dedicated Computing Teacher to join the school’s friendly teaching team.
The successful applicant should have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and possess the ability to establish and maintain positive classroom learning relationships. You will ideally be experienced in teaching Information Technology, as well as being flexible and adaptive to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.
Experience in teaching Years 11 and 12 is highly desirable, as the successful applicant will be required to teach at Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level and ideally be qualified to teach a relevant Certificate II. As such, applicants who hold a Certificate IV in Applied Digital Technology are strongly encouraged to apply.
Lakeland SHS is an Independent Public School located in South Lake. The school is close to the city and situated near the freeway and Cockburn Central train and bus station. The school caters for all students with a comprehensive range of courses and pathways to best meet the needs and interests of students. The school has high expectations of students and for success. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
