This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2022 with possible extension and/or permanency
South Newman Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Physical Education Primary Teacher to join their team.
The successful applicant will ideally build positive relationships with students and also support students to engage in school. They would ideally help build students’ self-esteem through project based and hands on learning. South Newman PS is looking for a teacher to help improve literacy and numeracy outcomes for students through creative challenges and opportunities.
The successful applicant should be caring, committed, creative, show good initiative, be an excellent communicator, resilient and someone who can motivate students and is culturally inclusive.

In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants without teaching qualifications may be considered. In this circumstance, a fixed term appointment as an untrained teacher for the 2022 school year will be offered.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
