Tambrey Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated person to an Early Childhood teaching position within our school.
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the executive team, we are seeking an individual who will contribute to the implementation of the school’s business plan 2020 to 2022, and continue the work of the school’s long-term vision.
The successful applicant will ideally have the capacity to deliver high quality educational experiences that meet the needs of a diverse range of students within the WA Curriculum and Assessment Outline.
The successful applicant would become part of a professional learning community culture with a growth mindset, will ideally be open to accessing instructional coaching and mentoring to maximise student outcomes for ongoing analysis of student performance data and evidence-based differentiated best practice. They will ideally have an understanding of high impact educational strategies and the capacity to influence, facilitate and lead change to improve student outcomes. We are seeking a teacher who has outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate and relate to parents, students and staff members.
As the successful applicant you will ideally have proven literacy experience and deep curriculum knowledge, with a particular focus on explicit instruction and a response-to-intervention model of instruction. A thorough understanding of Cultural Responsiveness and EAL/D processes would be an advantage. Experience in managing student healthcare and the ability to build positive relationships is essential.

Tambrey PS is an Independent Public School, centrally located in the City of Karratha 1600km north-west of Perth. Our school is part of the Pilbara Education Region and has recently celebrated its 32nd Anniversary. The Pilbara has diverse cultural and environmental experiences from Exmouth to Broome to Tom Price. Karratha offers a number of modern facilities, particularly the Red Earth Arts Precinct along with a range of recreational pursuits.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
