About Our School
Australind Senior High School (SHS) is the largest Independent Public School in the South West region of Western Australia. It is located 1.5 hrs from Perth and is also close to the tourist destinations of Busselton and Margaret River, offering a balanced lifestyle.

About the role
Australind SHS are seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Mathematics Teacher who is responsive to change and is willing to support an inclusive education catering for a variety of learning styles.
The suitable applicant will be effective in engaging and motivating students through creating an innovative learning environment. Ideally applicants will possess excellent interpersonal skills and work closely with students, staff and the community to achieve positive educational outcomes for all students. Suitable applicants will work as part of a dedicated team to develop, review and deliver relevant curriculum across all levels from Year 7 to Year 12. The successful applicant will be self-reflective, have strong teaching and classroom management skills and a proven capacity to foster and develop positive relationships with students.
Suitable applicants will ideally have a sound understanding of the developmental needs of students at all phases of the West Australian Mathematics Curriculum and will be skilled at differentiating the curriculum to meet the academic needs of the students. At Australind SHS we are committed to improving the numeracy and literacy skills of our students in lower school to support their achievement across the Year 7 to Year 12 curriculum and to therefore provide a solid platform for their success in General and/or ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) level courses in Senior School. An understanding of data analysis to further support evidence-based planning would be beneficial for NAPLAN and OLNA interventions.

Eligibility
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
Training
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
