The Role and our Branch
The Business and Customer Services Directorate (BCS) supports the objectives and outcomes of clients by providing value for money corporate services through streamlined business systems and processes and skilled and motivated people.
The Business Improvement and Capability (BIC) branch sits within the Business and Customer Services Directorate (BCS) but delivers services across the Education and Business Services (EBS) Division and the broader Department through School Corporate Services staff. The BIC branch works collaboratively with EBS areas to implement organisational change to ensure corporate services functions are efficient and effective. The branch is responsible for leading and enabling the implementation of workforce and organisational reform and improvement initiatives across EBS and school corporate services staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced organisational change and capability specialist to join our team. This role in partnership with key stakeholders will develop and implement organisation development, workforce planning and capability uplift initiatives across EBS and will contribute to the development and analysis and corporate services staff in schools. This role involves partnering with stakeholders to conceptualise future organisation and workforce structures to influence and drive change that aligns to the Department’s strategic priorities and meets the needs of our customers.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated highly developed skills and experience in identifying opportunities to improve product/service delivery and applying quality improvement/risk management principles, including managing workplace change and the impact of change on people.
2. Demonstrated substantial experience in performance analysis and implementation of staff improvement initiatives, including the ability to critically analyse and use data to drive the development of business performance.
5. Demonstrated skills and experience in achieving outcomes and delivering quality products and services consistent with customer needs and defined quality expectations.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
