Appointment Pool
Belridge Secondary College (SC) and Belridge Secondary Education Support Centre (SESC) are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2023 Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2023.
Suitable applicants will be considered for both Belridge SC and Belridge SESC vacancies pertaining to this position. Both schools are located on the same site in Beldon in Perth’s northern suburbs.
As School Officers are the first point of contact for staff, students, and visitors to our schools, you will ideally be confident, organised, and approachable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are ideal as interactions with staff, students, and parents, will be a regular aspect of a School Officer’s role.
To be successful in this role you will model effective customer services principles and practices, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for completing a variety of administrative duties using excellent interpersonal and communication skills working in collaboration with the administration team, staff, and school community. The successful School Officer will ideally work well under pressure with the ability to handle several kinds of tasks at once and prioritize them while remaining composed and calm with a high accuracy and attention to detail.
Suitable applicants will be responsible for completing administrative duties which require maintaining school databases, records, and management information systems to ensure they are accurate and up to date whilst ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive material. Skills including a strong working knowledge and experience of Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), Integris, RM Billing, RM Finance and MS Office producing mail merge documents and excel spread sheets will be highly regarded.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- Ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
