Jurien Bay District High School (DHS) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, qualified to teach in the Health and Physical Education (HPE) area.

About the role
Initially the role will be teaching Primary to Year 7 with a future role utilising expertise across the school.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to work as part of a team, focussed on developing engaging and relevant learning experiences and building positive relationships with colleagues and learners. With effective interpersonal skills, you will work closely with our school community to instil our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Commitment.
Teachers at Jurien Bay DHS use the iSTAR lesson framework as a model for connected practice and consistency between classrooms. Teachers also plan and teach using Cooperative Learning Structures to assist with the acquisition of skills and concepts, while promoting engagement and positive relationships between learners. Professional Learning will be provided for both of these initiatives and the successful candidate will approach the implementation of these learning programs with enthusiasm.
To be successful in this role, the Physical and Health Education teacher will ideally have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to teach Physical and Health Education across all year levels of our District High School.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
