Appointment Pool
Binnu Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Library Officer’s for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2022 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2022 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2023.
The role of the Library Officer is to assist with the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the library and provision of reference, information and associated services to teaching staff and students. You would operate library systems, ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are processed so they are accessible and available to students and staff at all times. This includes the maintenance of equipment and displays, repairing damaged books and covering new books.
Suitable applicants will ideally be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities to promote excellence within our school including application of excellent customer service principles and practices. You will ideally possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and demonstrate the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner. You will understand how to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and supporting community groups to foster a culture of high performance and high care for all students.
Binnu PS is a community school, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Ability to provide administrative support and organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
